Borgo Parrini is a small fraction of Partinico, a municipality in the province of Palermo where there are nice renovated houses.
The same are inspired by the inspiration of the Catalan architect Antonio Gaudì, known for his famous and ambitious work Sagrada Familia in Barcelona in Spain.
Why the name Borgo Parrini?
The history of the small village in western Sicily dates back to the 1500s with the acquisition of the fields around the town of Partinico by the priests of the Jesuit Novitiate.
From here comes the dialectal name "Parrini" which means priests.
The Borgo experienced its maximum splendor under the ownership of the French prince Henri D'Orleans who gave life to a real farm with hundreds of employees.
The small rural agglomeration experienced decline after the Second World War, many were the inhabitants who decided to pour into larger cities, almost completely depopulating the small hamlet.
The rebirth
A few years ago at the behest of the very few remaining inhabitants of the village assisted by the entrepreneur Gaglio, the small agglomeration was relaunched and totally re-evaluated.
The idea or rather the inspiration was to take a cue from the architect Gaudì.
The buildings were renovated and colored, the floors and walls were covered with bright and decorated tiles, all of which made the small fraction look like Barcelona in miniature, gaining astonishment and approval from visitors.
